What role does the ILMA play in GF-5?

The Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association (ILMA) is a trade organization that represents independent American lubricant manufacturers. In the engine oil standards development process, the ILMA reviews the draft specifications and data on prototype oils and provides feedback to the ILSAC/OIL Committee.

The ILMA provides input to the specification development process.  The organization's participation brings perspective to the process and helps ensure that development and commercialization of the new specification is done with equal consideration for all members of the industry.
