The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers attacks the NTSA's  draft environmental impact statement on CAFE standards. The Alliance, which includes GM, Ford, Chrysler, Daimler AG, Toyota, and five other automakers, claim that the impact statement is inconsistent with information submitted to the NTSA and that it drastically overstates the environmental benefits of raising fuel economy.
