Testing Code of Practice

Additional testing reviews ensure accuracy

Tests and test limits that are determined with oversight from American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) and ILSAC/OIL, must undergo another round of reviews to ensure quality and accuracy. The American Chemistry Council (ACC) Product Approval Protocol Task Group (PAPTG) reviews the test procedures and proposed performance limits to ensure that they are robust and fit for purpose.

The ACC Petroleum Additives Product Approval Code of Practice provides a Template for Acceptance of New Tests. This template was developed to ensure the accuracy of the tests and the reliability of the data. This process is also in place to confirm that the test results are being interpreted correctly.

The ACC is comprised of numerous lubricant additive and specialty chemical companies.
