Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA)

What role does JAMA play in GF-5?

Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) provides a venue for members to share technological developments and management practices. It also establishes and promotes policies related to automobile trade and international exchange.

JAMA contributes to the passenger car motor oil specification process as a voting member of ILSAC. Although ILSAC is a North American organization its relevance is international. JAMA represents a number of different Japanese OEMs who come to a consensus on JAMA position as part of ILSAC.   An ILSAC member from Toyota North America serves as a representative for JAMA's position.
