Summary of ILSAC/OIL teleconference meeting held on July 1

The milestones of the meeting are provided.

The GF-5 Technology Demonstration period has begun. 

The Sequence VID, the new GF-5 fuel economy test, will be brought under the American Chemistry Council (ACC) Product Approval Code of Practice for the purpose of registration.  Click for attached memo  from ACC
 

Revised Sequence VID limits have been proposed by ILSAC as follows, with FEI1 = Initial Fuel Economy and FEI2 = Durable Fuel Economy.
 

a.  0W-20     1.8 FEI1/ 1.5 FEI2

b.  5W-20     1.6 FEI1/ 1.3 FEI2

c.  XW-30     1.4 FEI1/  1.1 FEI2

d. 10W-30    1.2 FEI1/  0.9 FEI2
