Summary Report ESCIT Subcommittee Meeting

A conference call of the Emissions System Compatibility Improvement Team (ESCIT), which reports to ILSAC/OIL, was held on April 10, 2008.  The results of the meeting are summarized below.

For the Calculation Method, there were 10 votes for Percent Phosphorous Retention, 4 votes for Phosphorus Loss Mass, and 3 abstentions. For When to Measure Phosphorous Retention, there were 11 votes for End of Test (EOT) limit only, 3 votes for EOT + 20 hour limits, and 3 abstentions.

A draft letter with a recommendation from ESCIT to ILSAC/OIL was developed and will be discussed at the ILSAC/OIL meeting on April 18th. The letter is only a recommendation from ESCIT to the decision makers within ILSAC/OIL.

ESCIT determined that tasking is complete unless ESCIT is directed to take other action by ILSAC/OIL

ESCIT determined that the Sequence IIIG Surveillance Panel should take up the proposals for improving ICP measurement accuracy.
